Welcome to the OK SSTV Net

Schedule:

SSTV NET

Each Sunday night at 19:00 CST on 147.72 OCAPA Repeater

Informal SSTV

Some nights 18:00 thru 21:00 on 145.050 simplex or 147.72 OCAPA Repeater

The software we use is MMSSTV it is easy to use and free! JE2HHT (Mako Mori) has done a great job with this software. Download your copy from here!

If you want to view the transmitted images all you need is the free MMSSTV software on your PC and connect your speaker on your radio to the mic or line-in on your computers sound card. EASY and FREE!

Hint: If you set the RXID and TXID, buttons your screen will automatically update with the correct call sign. In addition, when we receive your images your call will display on our screens.

If you would like to send images there are a number of ways to do this.

West Mountain Radio makes the RigBlaster. Frankly speaking, this is the easiest way to run most sound card / radio software.  I can recommend the RigBlaster plus.

If you don’t want to buy a interface there are numerous designs using simple inexpensive 2N2222 transistor to key the radio. Wm2u has a good site on Soundcard interfacing. His site has keying circuit diagrams that are easy and cheap to build.

Some has even used there TNCs to key the radio.

On the repeater, we use Scotty 2 mode. This mode is fast.  On VHF, the images are clear and clean. On simplex, power and a good antenna are required. We don’t have the help of a repeater. We have transmitted images as far as Midwest City, OK to Alex, OK. That’s over 50 miles. Not bad for VHF!

Just think, in time of disaster or emergency, we could send photos of damage from the field with a notebook computer and Ham radio.
