Hello, my name is Ronn Folk my call sign is AD5JN, I am an amateur radio operator also known as a HAM. I am also a Air Force MARS ( Military Affiliate Radio Station ) member, my call is AFA4FR. Ham radio is one of my many interests. I enjoy blending my many hobbies. I earned my first ham license when I was in Jr. High. I built my first crystal radio receiver when I was very young. I used to listen to the BBC late at night with a water pipe as a ground and a wire antenna strung from a tree. Look ma no battery, How cool is this! My first ham setup was a Harvey Wells transmitter and a Heathkit HR-10B receiver. My first ham radio kit was a HW-8 QRP CW radio. I mowed lawns for a whole summer to get enough money to buy that radio. I wish I still had it today!
