Computers

I have a bunch of computers in the shack. They are wired to a 10/100 switch, Firewall and router. I use COX cable for an ISP. Lately, I have been happy with COX. I was the first in the hood to get cable modem. Over the years I have had my difficulties with COX over all though I have been happy.   I also have wireless Netgear “G” router. All the computers in the house are wireless.  The Netgear works fine on the wireless side, however the 10/100 wired side is slow as dirt. I route IP traffic to the Netgear wireless from the Linksys cable router. I do like the Netgear for one thing and that is it’s content filtering. I try to keep the smut off my network and from the kids.  I used to have a Bay 28115 switch. It caused birdies all over the VHF band. If fact one birdie was right on top of the ISS downlink. So I got rid of the Bay switch and replaced it with a 24 port 10/100 low cost Phoebe switch. I thought I got rid of the interference. I was wrong. I will need to replace the Phoebe with something else. Until then I must unplug the Phoebe while working the 145.800 iss downlink. I also found that if I use a HT, the Netgear wireless router interferes with the 147.210 repeater freq. Not a real problem using a outside antenna.
